Sri Lanka has more than one hundred beautiful waterfalls and rivers. Unsurprisingly, most of the waterfalls are located in Sri Lanka’s Hill Country, cascading down sharp cliff faces, rolling rocky outcrops and sheer mountainsides alike. The waterfalls of Sri Lanka are beautiful interludes between the flow of water from the country’s wet inlands all the way through to the more temperate regions and upto the Indian Ocean. Bambarakanda is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka, boasting a height of 789 feet. Its location in the middle of the thick jungles of Bandarawela makes it difficult to get to, but ultimately the journey is worth your while, the hike itself can be a really great adventure.
